What do "Canucks" know about sun care products you might ask? Well to be honest, considerably more now in late 2008 then we did back then!
In conjunction with leading dermatologists and sports enthusiasts we have embarked on a mission of reducing or eliminating all of the negative aspects of sunscreen application in the hopes of making outdoor activities safer and more enjoyable. We endevour to produce and supply state of the art full spectrum sunscreens specifically designed for an active lifestyle in the "great outdoors.
In the last year and a half since conception we have taken our product ideas a long, long way. Originally the brainchild of Rick Martindale, the "Mulligan" sunscreen wipe was designed out of a very specific need. As an avid, although rather mediocre golfer, I found myself with the same problems all golfers have had in the past with respect to sunscreen use. It is common knowledge now of the need for sunscreen in these days of a depleted ozone layer and propagating cancers of all kinds. As golfers we realize the simple nature of the sport puts all of us at a significant risk of damage to our skin from the effects of the sun. We all "try" to be responsible in using sunblock but that brings about several inherent problems.
First and foremost there is the issue of "greasy" residue left after applying the sunblock. How often have we found ourselves away from the convenience of running water and paper towels and unable to get rid of the grease from the sunblock...how many of us have been caught wiping our hands on expensive clothing. And let us not forget the currently available "sport-hands free" sunblock currently on the market. This product, although having the best of intentions, is applied via sponge applicator wiped on exposed skin. The problem with this approach is that to achieve adequate coverage you must then use your hands to spread "evenly" on missed areas....not so hands free!
The next problem with the existing products currently on the market is the bulky and fragile packaging used. Has anyone ever had your favorite golf bag ruined by the bottle of sunblock breaking? God bless those baggage handlers! Our simple and convenient packaging allows us to store our sunscreen anywhere safely. The individually wrapped wipes can be carried in your golf bag, glove box, golf cart, or even in your pocket! It doesn't get any more convenient than that!
It is our sincerest hope that we can help all those who spend time enjoying the sun do it safer and more conveniently than ever by providing a product of outstanding quality and effectiveness, while making it easier to do the right thing.
